Hello dearies! How's life?

As on the Blog Title, I'm going to share my story. I only get three words to do this. Got this line from a book, Omne trium perfectum which means everything that comes in threes is perfect or every set of three is complete.

Happiness, Healing and Love.

I can relate this when I'm drawing and  when I draw its mostly that the final piece will be given to someone I care. The happiness of the person who received the gift that is made by me, I enjoyed it! It doubled my joy. That keeps me going and continue to create Dear Jeeric. I hope that I could share this happiness through Dear Jeeric by providing customization service to our clients as a joint partnership project to make something unique for client's love ones.

The process of drawing heals. I feel peace, concentrating just on the drawing and coloring process. The medium I love the most is watercolor. I remember there this workshop I held in last year to teach my student to draw Floral Wreath in Watercolor. Though just one signed up, but it was indeed a very good experience cause my friends came to support too. It was like a therapeutic class not aiming on the perfect finishing of the artwork but to calm our soul after a hectic study or working week.

Love. It would be my love towards art and design & the love I hope to spread to everyone through my artwork. All of the style of my creation is soft and sweet that would automatically forms the 'Awwwwww' from you. HAHA. Also for the unconditional love and support I get throughout these years that keeps me dreaming of that someday, I will get there!

Web hosting experience with Exabytes - The Instant Ecommerce Design

Digital transformation in retails is a must as consumer nowadays expect their retail providers to follow the suit. One of my suggestion to the boss is to create a website! The first thing on mind is Exabytes, a Malaysia Web Hosting company that I got to know from a friend. First thing first, visit their site! LOL. You can see a typical consumer who google search about the brand online before purchase!

Cindy was helpful looking for alternative ways upon my request for the add-on product option.

She also sent a form to collect details from us for the web setup.

The transformation was bad! Really bad as in the company has zero details/ pictures/ information of the products filed in computer. Took like few days to get all things organized. After sending the content to Cindy, the team will take 14 working days to complete for us to review! I seriously can’t wait for this and hope that it turns out great.

Hello, I'm back after catching the same cold twice! It'd been a tough week. I had the worst fever that wouldn't recover, and massive headache due to migraine. Getting better this week and got my hands on the website that I'm working on!

Bought my own domain and web hosting, build from scratch and finally it's completed! Yay! Now I had gain a new skill that can 'cari makan'. ☺ Back to the website, it's for my online shop Dear Jeeric with tagline 'Handmade Customized Gifts Inspired By You'. An online gift shop where customization service is provided from the design, size of the items, name and message. The gifts are also handmade from hand drawing, hand sewing, and also fillings. That's what makes them so special, your one of a kind gifts for your love ones.

As we grow, we now started to printing on fabrics with one aim that is to provide a lower cost to our customers, where all of them can own the gifts with our own Deer Icon Design with slogan 'You're so deer to me'. It's meaningful to us and also to our customers and their love ones. Holding on to this business is not easy. We grow together. What I've learnt, I'll apply to Dear Jeeric so it keeps me interested to continue even though it's already 4 years.

I remember just starting this online business when a friend of mine suggested to rent a booth at Utar Kampar. Back then, I was thinking why not give it a try (Just thought of that will be fun), but who knows I've made it through this 4 years. Even though in between I did not completely focus in the business as I continued to pursue my degree in University Utara Malaysia. Ughh...it hits me how time flies. I'm now left with one last month of internship!

Flea Market 101 | Increase Sales

Flea Market seems to be everywhere! For small business like mine, other than marketing my products online, joining flea markets locally are essential to create awareness of my brand. Flea Market?? Only a social person can handle it...I...am...just a quiet person who loves art and makes crafts 😓 

But I decided to give it a try! Through the last 4 years, I met a lot of wonderful people in flea markets and I got really valuable experience from this journey. Good things are meant to be shared. I may not be right but below are some tips that I found useful in boosting sales! ⇗

1. Say hello to everyone.  A ‘hello’ is simple but it really works. People feel warm and close to you. They are more likely to buy from a friendly person. It is when Relationship Marketing does it part.

2. The striking or best-sellers on the sides nearest the aisle. You can grab people’s attention no matter which way they’re walking past you. Studies show people only look into the first two feet of your booth.  So make sure you’re making the most of those two feet!

3. Know the tagline or hook for each of your products.  You don’t have much time so know what simple sentence you can say about each item that will help make a sale. For my handmade custom gift shop, ‘Specially made for him/her’, ‘One-of-a-kind’, ‘Customize based on your request’, etc could simply close the deal.

4. Put a banner at the back sides of your booth.  Let people know that you are here!  People can see it when they’re in a neighboring booth or are walking up to yours.

5. Play around your display as the day goes on. A little arrangement might induce the curiosity of the people. I changed my booth three times in two days and each time, my sales increased.  You start to see how people move in the booth and interact with your displays.

6. Make maximum signage.  I had signs everywhere saying how much things were, who they were ideal for (planners buddies, artists, craft maker, etc).

7. Put things in the customer’s hand.  Once they take it, it’s much more difficult to put it down. They just cannot refuse adorable things!

8. Ask who it’s for, if the person is dilemma in making a choice.  You know your product best and people love getting the extra help picking out the perfect gift. Show that you are professional and give them some ideas and advice.

9. Make sure you have an easy ordering process. Assure them when you’ll mail it out.  Go above and beyond for free shipping charges to increase the chances that they’ll buy it. If possible, always have them to make the payment on the spot.

10. Never count your money till the end of the day.  It’s quite superstitious but I find that if I’m constantly adding up my sales in my head, I’m not focusing on the people in my booth. This way I’m always pleasantly surprised when I finally get to count the sales!
